Why I choose Cloudapp

Cloudapp or droplr? As a mac user, you will probably recognize this.
For those who don’t know, cloudapp and droplr are 2 fantastic ways to share files fast. Very fast. They both have a web app but the app on your mac is where the magic happens.
The difference between the 2 is quit easy: Droplr is free. You can upload unlimited files (bookmarks, images, …), up to 1GB. You can also use your own domain. With cloudapp you can upload only 10 files a day. The space you have is unlimited, but using your own domain is not supported with free accounts.

So why choosing cloud app then? Droplr clearly has the advantage.
Well, Cloud app is prettier and more reliable. Droplr often hangs or crashes. I don’t like that AT ALL. When I bought my mac, I was so relieved that I didn’t need to use ctrl + alt + delete all time. I don’t want to use force quit all the time.
Let’s be honest, Cloud app is damn pretty. The icon of cloud app is just amazing. It’s all in the small things. Their web app is absolutely beautiful. Design plays a big role in OSX and Apple products in generally. I like that and I want that same philosophy into my 3th party apps. Don’t get me wrong, Droplr isn’t ugly, far from actually. But there is something about cloud app and that little cloud in my menu bar.

The overall performance is also a lot better. Cloudapp has more features like their famous raindrops system or automatic upload of your screenshots. For more info, check their site.
Check out both and make your choice. If you are a person who shares a lot, you should go for Droplr since it’s free. Unless you want to pay €45 euro for cloud app to get a pro account for 1 year.
If I am honest, they both rock. But if I must choose, I pick Cloud app. For now…
