Buying the iPhone 5

Interesting times for us, the Apple enthusiasts. There are several rumors turning up about the new iPhone 5. We have seen various mock ups on the internet. Very interesting indeed. 

But the question that’s keeping me busy is this one: Should I buy one when it comes out in September?

I bought my iphone 3GS in April last year (which was stupid since the iPhone 4 launched a few months later, lesson learned). No doubt that the iPhone 5 would be a huge upgrade for me but I don’t want to make the same mistake again.

The September launch is new. Apple has the routine to launch the iphone in June/July. So that means if Apple goes back to the June/July release date for the iPhone 6, “only” 10 months are between the 2 releases in stead of 1 year. 

My 3GS is in a very good state so I should be able to keep it running until the iPhone 6 release in 2012. I can’t afford to buy myself a new iPhone every year. But the desire to have a new iPhone is big, very big. 

So, what do you think? Should I keep my 3GS and resist, or should I go for the iPhone 5?
