Decoding Steve Jobs
The day Steve Jobs resigned as the CEO of Apple, a friend sent me this link.
“Jobs’ fabled attitude toward parking”, writer Leander Kahney says, “reflects his approach to business: For him, the regular rules do not apply.”
And that, I think, is one of the reasons why Steve Jobs is so succesful. He does things different, he thinks different. He takes risks. When he is conviced of something nobody can stop him. He is determined to change the world. And he did.
And the fact that he isn’t the CEO of Apple anymore doesn’t change a thing. He will still try to come up with new innovative things where nobody else thinks about. Why? Because he loves Apple, he loves his job, he loves to do what he does.
But don’t think you’ll do better as a leader by acting more like Apple’s leader. Trust the art, not the artist.
Exactly. There’s only one Steve.
I wish him well and I hope he stays hungry and stays foolish.
